Golden trumpets

By AngelaR
Thought I'd try a different angle for these flowers. No idea once more what the shrub is - can anyone help? Again from the Monte gardens, near Funchal, Madeira.

This is lovely - very dramatic - can't help on the name, though.

Hi AngelaR - Love the backlight in this shot, and the contrasting plays of light and shade. I think this plant is one of the "Datura" family (now called "Brugmansia") or Angel's Trumpets. They were always white years ago, but now lovely shades of pink, yellow, orange and red are also available as well as lavender, and some are two-toned. Yours looks like the delicious and aptly-named "Grand Marnier". It's a shame the camera can't capture fragrance - yet!
A lovely and different picture. I like it!

Certainly an interesting perspective, almost looks like a canopy. Well thought out shot.

Thanks for the comments - especially to Hez for the information. Having looked via Google images, and Hez's description, I don't think these were Grand Marnier as I don't recall any particular scent. But they were certainly unusual plants and I'm sure the type is correct.
