Clarity almost beyond belief here Dean. It's gotta be the best Goldie I've seen on here in eight years. If I had another UA to give away today I wouldn't hesitate

Top drawer again DeanSmile

I see this one, like the Tits is producing that soft downy feather, which almost looks like it is out of focus.

First noticed it last year on the Robins & couldn't work out what it was for ages

A sign of colder weather, which they anticipate forWink

Catch one !!!!! ( a little bit childish Dean) I get plenty of real close looks at Goldfinches thanks - I've got good binoculars. I see them in the garden - RSPB reserve - BTO nest recording etc. A birder all my life - never seen blue wings.
It's a trick of the light that plays on blacks as often seen on ePz on Blackbirds,Great Tits heads etc- they appear blue instead of their natural black.
Never mind - as long as you think its OK that's the main thing.
Brian.

" A little bit childish Dean " Really not what i would expect of you Bri, but we learn something new every day !!!! I know what the light does to blacks and you see that in my image as taken on the day.......NOT hammered in PS & the life drained from it !! I try to stay as natural as possible with the subject and right or wrong this is how it was on the day.
Ps.....My initial comment was NOT demeaning, nor was it meant in a derogatory way !!!!
All the best......Dean Wink

Calm down.... If the black point in this image is set to be = black, using Threshold and Curves, the correct approach, the bright blue becomes a lot darker. Its still blue, but darker. Maybe some peace will be restored?

Its a nice shot, - Ive never even see one close.

Regards
