This is one of the clasic shots ov a ver fantastic place!
Oh and you never took me! my favourite city in the world, visit every year now, as I take other photographers as well to see places I have found out of the way, been up that church tower opposite Doges Palace superb views and you have certainly captured the 'magic' of this wonderful place with this wonderful shot...perfect shot

Thanks for the tip about the Campanile, Trev. We will check this out, but unlikely to get there early because we're staying in Lake Garda and planning on visiting Venice by train! I'm beginning to think we should have factored in an overnight stay....
