Gorge du Pichoux

By joolsb
And finally from this lovely gorge in the Swiss Jura, is this semi-abstract from further up the gorge. This is the run-of from a waterfall which was behind me as I made this image and I was struck by the mosses and lichens and how they contrasted with the bare rock and water.

Different and close to abstract. You can see that it is water, but the first impression from the thumb was that is was mist rising from a valley. I so slightly want to crop down to keep the top, bright corner out of the frame to enhace the abstract feel.

Cheers, Melanie.

I agree entirely with Melanie's crop suggestion, but notwithstanding this has all the high quality Joolsb hallmarks - a well seen and executed study of the interaction between the earth's elements. That may sound clinical, but clinical is not the effect that your images produce.

I've never known anything like it. I thought it must be me (people p*ssed off with commenting on images that get deleted by me) but I've been through other portfolios and the ratio of votes to comments is depressing, to put it mildly.
