Gotcha.....

By ade_mcfade
Just composed a shot when the security guard pulls up in his landrover - so set the shot gong before he came over and said his piece.

Having just changed the battery the shot was several stops under exposed, so this has been lifted and is grainy, hence going mono. Seems to suit that kinda thing.

This is such an impressive comp - I can't even imagine how you spotted it (was it the result of a crop?) - power crazed bafoon sounds about right - and so good in B&W although I am perhaps struggling for a little more contrast around the Landrover (but that is almost certainly down to my 6 inch monitor!)

well if you look back in my portfolio you'll see a shot a bit like this with a puddle in the foreground, I was composing for that when the knob in the landrover turned up!

wasnt happy, put it that way

Powerful in so many different ways.
Having just commented on clintnewsham's egg pics the name of the security firm conjured up such a great picture. Do go lookSmile

Next time Ade ask them where the signs prohibiting taking photographs are positioned, or maybe say you hadn't seen them because they are so well camouflaged!!!!

An excellent scoop to go with your series. Mond yoy, I'm a little suspcious, the Land Rover is so well positioned!!!!

Did he 'persuade' you to move then Ade? Or did you manage to explain your rights on this occasion?

Heh nice one Ade Wink

I'd have been tempted to throw in some more noise, as it's a bit streaky here, like the effect with the steam though. Oh and also bit too much at the bottom for me, adds too much weight there.

this was from the first time I got asked - I'd composed the shot and he pulled in fronty of me as I was setting up.

I'd just changed battery so the exposure was totally wrong, but decided it was an opportunity to get something different...

but alas it is stripey

I've got the rights docs in the car now Dan - will wave those in their face, and if prompted I will ask for the police's number and call them myself. Just ask them what the score is rather than get them narked by leaving their warm office and cuppa tea to drive out

Very unusual i like unusual takes on things, but i do find myself drawn to the sign on the landrover but I love the way youve caught the light on the landrover.

I like the composition with the grainy effect, I think your position is good in the centre of the towers with a good atmospheric sky.
I personally would have cropped the image just below the tyres.
