A view of the newly refurbished Grand Pier at Weston-Super-Mare in Somerset, taken from the promenade in spring last year.
This looks like a great place to visit Ed ! I also like the clouds !!
That's quite some pier! Love that sky. Don't think we have anything remotely like this pier on our side of the border. Sort of explains why various comedians/artists refer to "playing on the pier" which in Scotland would make me think they were buskers!!
As I said yesterday it's good to see the reconstruction that has taken place, and that the buildings look so clean and pristine.
Nice shot of the whole structure, Ed.
A bright and sunny, warm and inviting image Ed, can we have more of the same please, it is beginning to snow again.
An excellent composition, Ed, good to see it 'whole' again Carol
I fine take of this restoration. Those cumulus clouds in the bg are the finishing touches.
Long time since I was in Weston Ed, super image,
EXCELLENT view you've got here, Ed, and what a great sky to go with it!
Lovely shot Ed topped with a great sky.
Lovely refurbished pier but I do think the signs could be less garish.
Maybe that's how people expect sea resorts to look?
Fascinating combination of building and sky. A
What a great composition Ed, such a wonderful sky.
Exposed and composed with perfection Ed.
Good exposure here Ed and good to see it back up & running again! Lou
The blue sky and the white clouds and building make a fine image.
A lovely seaside image, beautifully captured.
Top drawer Ed
Fine shot of the pier/ promenade.
Lovely image. Don
They made a good of it Ed - so did you.
Many thanks for all your comments and clicks, they are much appreciated, Ed
A fine shot of it Ed! Is the pier shorter now? I had the impression it was longer when I saw it on fire on TV.
No it is the same length Jim, the angle of shot may give you the impression that it is shorter
Just catching up with a few of your recdent excellent pictures, Ed. As usual, a well-taken, varied & interesting collection.
Like piers Ed, being at sea without sailing lol. people have always been fascinated by them since Victorian times, nice one like it looks nicely refurbished, regards Leon.
