Grapes

I got a new prop !! One can never have enough Grin
Went out for high tea with my Son and Daughter (it was her birthday). Close to where we ate was a bit of an antiques market, couldn't resist this beautiful pewter wine jug. I was told it was French, 19th century but I'm not that bothered how old it is or where it came from tbh.

Lighting was tricky, I put my black bg infront of a window with the curtains drawn so the light is essentially from both sides.
I wanted to show the shape of the jug and get some light filtering through the grapes.
Single frame, this time,no HDR malarky Tongue
Not done anything to the bg, just a slight lift with levels in Photoshop.

Dropped a 1px border round as a couple of you have suggested.

Mods and constructive critique always welcome, I suspect a gritty B&W may be an alternative.

The lighting on this is so lovely, modelling and subtle. It's like an old master. Beautiful.

Oooh its fabulous and works so well with the grapes, nice lighting too. Ive got a couple of pewter pieces on loan that I need to photograph asap.
Are you entering IGPOTY still life category with a few of your still lifes? I hope you are. Im hoping to have 4 that are good enough to enter

I love the subtle lighting, especially on the pewter. Bright wouldn't suit it at all.
