Morning,
After climbing down about a 1000 feet from Scafell Pike to Lingmell Col we then scrambled back up 400 feet to the summit of Lingmell (2648 feet). A completely different place, we were the only people at the summit and from here we could see the constant stream from all directions of people climbing Scafell Pike. As much as I gained a lot of satisfaction from getting to the top I didn't really enjoy the crowds, I (probably selfishly) would like these high places to be secluded and special, but if people like me insist on climbing them then that is never going to happen.

Anyway this is the view looking in the opposite direction, over Lingmell Crags towards Great Gable (899m or 2949 feet). Another iconic Lake District mountain with a very distinctive shape and a fearsome drop on this side.
Thanks for looking and for yesterday's v's and c's. Special thanks to Lynne and Peter for their UA's which are very much appreciated.
Andy
