I love it when the woodpeckers come back to the garden. We usually have a pair and sometimes they bring their offspring to the feeder. I even had a regular visitor from a pileated woodpecker at my compost pile this summer. Unfortunately, I never could get a photo of him.

Fine looking Woody in classic pose, Ron. Interesting to see how these birds balance themselves with the tail firmly pressed against the perch - this illustrates it so well.

Excellent capture for the garden Ron and very well exposed. Just one little niggle my eye draws towards the cut off piece which shows signs of 3 pieces of content aware or cloning
