Great Yarmouth Winter Gardens

By IainHamer
Great Yarmouth Winter Gardens. On the seafront next to the Wellington pier stands this somewhat forlorn looking building. I think they are tying to get some investment in the building to get it back to the former condition

Great Yarmouth is a resort town on the east coast of England. It's known for its long sandy beach. The Time and Tide Museum traces local history. The Nelson Museum focuses on the life of Admiral Horatio Nelson. There are penguins and sharks at the SEA LIFE aquarium. Merrivale Model Village features miniature landscapes and buildings. The Pleasure Beach and Joyland amusement parks have family rides

Perhaps we visited the place on a bad day, but I remember finding Great Yarmouth one of the most miserably depressing places I have ever seen. But very photogenically so... Like Mrs Doyle, 'Maybe I like the misery'... Wink

Hi Moira I know what you mean. I
t's a shade on the rundown side but we were there for the Legends of Rock weekend at a caravan site just inland from the town so we didn't spend too much time in the town. We popped in there just to have a look round and breakfast on a couple of mornings at a small but good food little Cafe

Be better if it was demolished & replaced with something more in keeping with todays seaside resort requirements.
Nicely captured image though of a yesteryear entertainment venue.
Never been there....what a great looking run down building.
