Sorry Jojo but you've got your species mixed up.

This is in fact the Greater Pillock (Latin Name: Poochus Major). A little larger in the chest than the Lesser Spotted with more drab plumage and a slightly more extravagant mating display.

Can I suggest you pick up a copy of "Collin's Guide to UK Pillocks" or the RSPB brochure "Pillocks of the South-West" to aid future identification.

There is a bit of everything in this Teena, Lucis art backed right off, several layers deleted through in areas, it is also an HDR 3 exposures in photmatix and Cs2 combined, and a lot of curves to finish off!!....jojo

Just copied this down out of the RSPB brochure I mentioned ....

Greater Pillock

Latin Name: Poochus Major

Family: Pillocks (Poochae)

Overview

The largest UK Pillock with drab green chest plumage, blue legs and a distinctive grey head. It is a woodland pillock which has readily adapted to man-made habitats to become a familiar garden visitor. It can be quite aggressive when feeding, often fighting off smaller pillocks. In winter it joins with other pillocks to form roaming flocks which scour the countryside and gardens for food.

Where to see them

Woodlands, parks and gardens across the South-West.

When to see them

Active all year round but best avoided due to their aggressive behaviour.

What they eat

Pretty much anything, a true scavenger of the Pillock world.

Hope this helps Wink

Congrats for the HC on the previous version Jojo, but I still prefer the crop on this. Lol at DaveU's commentary - he's got far too much time on his hands.
