Such a dramatic scene, I like how the boat seem so fragile against those threatening stormy skies. Beautifully captured.

Amazing sky, and the people in the sailboat don't seem to be aware that they're about to be hit by a heavy storm Wink
BTW the background to the leaf is rusty steel.

Thanks you very much everyone - much appreciated - yes little did this particular crew realise at the time that they were sailng into the perfect storm!

Well no - a bit of thunder and heavy rain really - not much in the way of crashing waves and wind.

I went back and looked again at the background Rende (but with my glasses on) and saw the error of my ways!

Best wishes all

If the sky's the work of a madman, you shoud let him loose more often.

The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above........

eeesh he's gone over the top again! stars I said stars not storms!!

What an incredible sky Robert. I love the fine detail in the shoreline and the boat and its occupants would have to pay me to be there with that sky though ! Smile

Thanks guys - we were in another boat not that far away and sailing out into open water - it did get wet and a bit thundery but no big sea or wind - thank goodness. So Di I think it woudl have been bearable maybe with a large G&T to help.

Viewed large it is wonderful Robert. The boat and lighthouse are as sharp as a pin and then there is the sky - during my 12 years in the Navy I don't think I ever saw anything so dramatic!
Many thanks for taking the time to view my gallery.

Quite a brilliant image Robert, the detail is excellent on the boat and foreground..I'm adding a mod, just having removed much of the noise/grain from the sky area, only my own thoughts but it seems to project the rest of the detail in the image even more, making it even crisper. You were in the right spot at the right time Smile

Leo - That is an excellent mod - there was I agree an almost unbearable degree of noise in the sky this smoothes it out very nicely an dpromoted the subject too.

Thank you for all you very kind comments

Best wishes
