Green Globe Artichoke 1

A cultivated majestic thistle with a purple flowerhead that attracts masses of bees.
Cynara cardunculus is a robust herbaceous perennial to 2.5m forming a clump of silvery-grey spiny leaves up to 1m in length.

A stately upright plant with numerous triangular scales and a lovely honey scent.
An old Victorian favourite which adds a theatrical touch to the border.

2 images, 2 different plants.

A nice pair, Pamela. Super colours, detail and b/g. The led is more imposing but I prefer V1 with more of the flower visible.
