Continuing with the Slate collection, ruined buildings in The Dorothea Slate Quarry, Nantlle, with versions in mono.

There are several ruined buildings around the quarry, many more complete than this one. Long lines of terrace like dwellings were called Barracks. Quarrymen would arrive for work early Monday morning and reside in the barracks until Saturday lunchtime. They were often damp, cold and miserable, but quarries were often too remote to make daily travel realistically possible. The buildings depicted here were slightly more grand, so were likely for middle management.

A fine follow-up to yesterday's David 👍 Again, looks good in mono, but going for colour, the lead being my fave 😃👍
