Grey Heron

By MossyOak
In between Stag and rut shots a little bit of a rest photographing this very obliging young Heron as it fished one of the streams at Bushy Park.
Here you can see it with a very small minnow and some weed as part of its 5 a day program

Many thanks for the CC's on yesterdays Stag/Jackdaw upload

Superb, Richard, that tiny minnow won't provide much sustenance though, must just be his starter Smile Carol

Just about the tamest Heron I have ever seen Richard. Quite content to stand there whilst we took the shots. This is a cracker.

Absolute belter of a shot Richard but I think he'll need a little more than that to eat to sustain him! Lou

Superbly timed to catch the Minnow feast, Richard - your Heron is not going to get fat on that! Lovely plumage detail, textures and tones, with fine eye and even sharp detail of the tongue.

A terrific capture Richard, the detail in the plumage is exceedingly good and it's perfectly timed to catch the minnow about to be devoured
