Group Walk

By tigertimb
This first shot was inspired by a suggestion in "Contemporary Wedding Photography" - written by Julie Oswin who did the EPZ wedding seminar at focus.
I was having a little trouble convincing everyone to link arms and then walk to the tree and back. But Rachel quickly took up the cause and bullied everyone for me. There are quite a few shots to the sequence, and it was fun watching them negotiate the turn.

#2, #3 & #4 are different b&w versions
#5 is an alternate shot from the sequence
#6 & #7 are the more formal versions of the group shot

Thankyou to everyone for all our comments on my recent shots and my apologies that I'm falling behind with mine by a bit.

Much better viewed large if you have the time

Tim Smile

Hi Tim. I know they're still uploading but it has to be the colour for me.
I've said it before but it needs repeating. This is a wonderful series of shots. Very competently taken and very professional looking.
Great work mate!

Thanks very much Paul; always appreciated Smile
I know I'm uploading these in little batches, but I'm having a hard time choosing favourites and I'm not wanting to still be uploading wedding shots in June!

Another great set, Tim. For the first shot I prefer the colour one which leads into and out from the bride. Fave B&W version #4. I also adore #5 although I'm not sure why.

Another excellent set, Tim. #1 is a great idea, and I'm slightly surprised if it's regarded as adventurous. When my father took our wedding photos he had us all linking arms and dancing along the street!

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Lucy - I'm assuming that's a follow-on comment to the beetles Wink
Bill, that sounds fun and it wasn't as if they took loads of persuading. I'm conscious though that these shots completely contradict my agreement with Moira yesterday; they were certainly contrived and they became the activity rather than capturing it. But the group shots were down on the list of must haves, so it was nice to be able to have a little fun with them. Smile

The bridesmaids' dresses and the lovely colour of the grass make these shots to work particulary well in colour IMO. I like no.1 pretty much, but straight, traditional no.6 is my fav.

Good variations Tim.

Is the 17-50 a digital lens?

It is Trev and I've been very happy with the results. Using multiple primes wasn't seeming feasible, and the speed and flexibility of this lens was key. Given the price I was very impressed seeing the reviews and how it performed at the f2.8 end
