It's a powerful image alright! I would probably be tempted to crop it down to square format to focus attention on the subject and loose the dead space at the top of the frame. Really like it though!

Crop it! It would be amazing to see it close-up without the top portion of the photo. Amazingly powerful image.

Disagree ! I think the image is powerful as it is and the background gives us a better understanding of his surroundings and how he lives. Maybe would have been good to see who was in the photo on the wall to give a sense of where he has come from ( assuming it is a family picture)

Its very good, stark and engaging. I agree with the suggestions to crop the top off somewhat to a more square format.

any crop should be out of the question, this image requires and informs its context, social and tonal!

I aint NO expert, but this is an excellent photo, right up my street in terms of taste and attitude. Boy I got a LOT of learning to do! Nice one.
