Guildhall, Worcester

By HerefordAnn
The City's Guildhall is a truly beautiful building which dates back to 1721. It has a fascinating history – it was once the seat of justice throughout the city and even housed a prison – and today offers both visitors and residents a glimpse of Worcester's rich and varied heritage. I believe that the statue in the centre is of Queen Anne.
SPQR: Senātus Populusque Rōmānus = The Roman Senate and People.

Thanks, both. I haven't really studied it properly so I am about to rectify that Smile (Well, I did try, but didn't get very far!)

A wonderful building, Ann.
We'll be in Worcester next week - I must look out for the Guildhall.

Thanks, both.
Richard - I haven't been for a few years, but there was a cafe inside although I cannot remember if it was any good, however it is worth going inside the building - there are a load of leather buckets on the walls (used in the old days for putting out fires).
