Entitled Guilty as I'm afraid I am guilty of subjecting my flowers to torture again. A length of wire was gently inserted up the stem and then wound around a tin whistle which was a convenient diameter Smile

I'm just working on a better method of curling the stems and have another Anenome by side out of water waiting for it to wilt just enough to make it a little more flexible - time will tell if I'm successful.

That's just cruel, off to find the website for the RFPS!

Being picky (and you know that I am) there is some debris on the petal to the lhs at the top Wink

What a wonderful blue. the petals look very delicate.

It's certainly a novel way to arrange the stem.

Yep - expertly spotted Cheryl - I did later remove the debris but this was the best of the shots in the end and maybe I should have removed it with software rather than my fingers! I'll be buying some more for the weekend so shall try to do better Smile

Thank you again everyone and thank you Pete for the EC Smile

I'm still waiting for another flower to wilt to see if I can get a tighter twist but it's been sat by my keyboard since about 7pm and no sign of it keeling over yet. It's got half an hour and then I'm giving up!

I can live with a bit of debris Cheryl Smile Grief, this was a very sorry bunch of flowers I must admit - I must stop buying from my cheap and cheerful flower man and maybe spend a tiny bit more money in future - maybe....

Superb image well deserving of the EC - congrats. It reminds me of something Japanese in style (is Ikebana the correct term for the art of flower arranging oriental style?) Bruce

Glad Cheryl made a comment about this underneath my own picture, because I hadn't seen this one yet. Well, debris or not, it's a great shot! And I suppose there's something to be said for debris, actually - it's more natural, isn't it. Nature isn't perfect - it's the imperfections that make it so wonderful, often. Anyway - congratulations!

Well done, Alison. My Mum was always torturing flowers with florists' wire, and you've used it to great effect here. Fabulous clarity on the bloom itself.

Hello everyone and thank you all again Smile

Ikebana - yep, that's the word Bruce - I've something in mind in that style but forgot to take my secateurs to work with me today to nick a bit off a tree! I might pop in tomorrow and give it a light pruning!

I've another Anenome by me all wired up and shall see if it will oblige and wilt before I go to bed. I'm afraid any flower with a hollow stem is fair game though I've been trying Tulips but they're a swine to wire up internally. That won't stop me trying though!

I do have a shot tucked away that has more debris than flower Conrad (well almost) - maybe I'll upload that some time for fun Smile

Hello and thanks again.

Indeed I can be a bit cruel Mavis but I'm afraid it just has to be done sometimes Smile Sadly I've nothing in the garden right now that lends itself to the wires so I shall be relatively kind to my flowers for now!

Hi Lesley and thanks Smile

I've got two bunches of Anemones at the moment which currently show no signs of opening - I'm rather hoping to get the wire out again sometime! I am however getting my regular flower supplier educated and he knows that I like the naturally bendy stems which is handy - getting wire into these things isn't always easy!

Hi Trevor and thanks for taking a look. I've not managed to get hold of any really decent Anemones this year and now my flowerman has gone off to India on holiday! So inconsiderate of him Smile I'll have to see what the other sellers have to offer.....
