Hambledon Hill

By katieb
The first day of my hols down here in Dorset and I woke to a heavy frost -2 and mist not what I was expecting - you have never seen anyone get out of bed and out the door so quick. I headed for the nearest hill which just happens to be Hambledon Hill a prehistoric Hiil Fort and very steep for someone who lives in reasonably flat Norfolk.
I liked the way the sun just caught the ridges and the frozen grasses of the steep slopes as it poked it's nose over the ridge giving this abstract image which really suited a B&W conversion.
Hope you like it also.
Thank you for looking.

A beautifully seen and photographed subject. The light picks out the textures and details perfectly.

Wonderful use of the light and cold temperature, the composition has a power and drama all of it's own.
Brave you rushing out here.
