Hanging Around!

By Glostopcat
A male chalkhill blue butterfly hanging on to a grass stalk and being buffeted by the wind at Swelshill Bank near Stroud, taken a couple of weeks ago on a a visit there with fellow epzer "Looloobey", Louise. I think she's uploaded a shot of this little fella before, he was the first one we spotted on the day. No doubt he'll be hanging on again today when the storms that are coming up from Cornwall and Devon reach us, strong winds and heavy rain is forecast! Yes folks the Great British summer is back with a vengeance!Sad

Your ability to capture these gorgeous creatures leaves me in awe and somewhat envious, this is yet another example of your photographic skill and prowess, simply stunning.

First class shot Ed. You are quite right about the weather. It started at about 5 am gales and rain, but it's mid- day now and the sun is out!!!!

These are very difficult to capture Ed, not only are they skittish but also wind movement to contend with, excellent capture.

I have been complaining I have not seen a butterfly in the ''flesh'' all year Ed,
and I thought I saw my first one at the Fringe.Unfortunatly at closer inspection
it was just a guy selling paper ones on a little bit of wire.I did not notice anyone
buying one though !!
Good shot.
(And you have made a good job cloning out the wire !!)

How wrong can you be Joan, the sun has come out at long last and I took a few pictures of some of the flowers in my back garden after the rain a few minutes ago! Many thanks for the user award Andrew it is greatly appreciated, Ed

Beautiful shot - very strange happenings here tonight clicked on the thumb and up came what could have been a montage but it was all over the place and didn't make sense, I clicked again and got the rightful image, never happened on here before

Just a tad soft on the focus ( to my eyes Ed.) when compared to others in the recent past. Still a fine shot however.
