A lovely natural shot, love the composition with the diagonal path edging separating her from the dark side...

Yes francesco, there is time when young girls,(and boys too !!),think it is not ''cool'' to be seen out with Mum and Dad.
It seems OK however,as long as you have your wallet with you !!
Good shot.

'She looks a little inquisitive on this one,' Francesco. Great expression on this monochrome-rendered Candid.

The dreaded back-focus in the center of the face: focus on the blouse, ear and hair - it kind of works here. I've seen one instance where someone used this to their advantage, with a person walking down a dark wooded lane. The person was in the central blur, and around, the trees were in focus - sort of pulling you into the composition.

I'm dealing with back-focus issues myself currently - I think something which is a combination of my age, and not shooting fast enough. I'm perceiving that I am not as steady as in my youth, and I think the movement during shooting, is what throws the focus out.

You did capture a very nice surly expression here though Smile

The fires in Bastrop are 95% contained. We did have a small amount of rain on Monday, but need much more. We are doing fine for now though. Thanks Francesco.

you're welcome, Anne. glad to hear the situation is getting better!
thanks for your analysis. in fact the shot was taken while walking, bending and focusing all at the same time. I've been lucky enough to have some part of her face in focus! Grin
many times I've the back-focus problem and most of the times is due to a poor adjustement of the dioptic of the viewfinder. don't think is a matter of age... Wink
