Happy Father's Day

By dawnmichelle
When I took this picture of his chair/Bible/shoes/cup and added him into the picture here is what I saw.

Here is the man that I followed like his shadow
With each step he took I was close beside or behind him.
He never got to far away from me. From the time I can remember we were never apart. He use to go visit his friends and me in the baby carrier I would be with him as he sat me on the restaurant table as he drank his coffee.
I grew up around all his friends and they became like
family to me.

When I see his cup. I think of how many times I have carried it to him with coffee or soup in side.
How many times I even held it just so his trembling hands could rest while he was sick.
The cup reminds me of the times I carried everything from the smallest nail to the
largest board as he did he is carpentry work.
His hands that I was amazed by cause no matter how bad they trembled he still tried to do it all himself.

The hands that I held as a child for comfort and the hands I held as he slipped away from me and
how for the first time in my life they were still. I will never forget looking at them and holding them and thinking how he longed for them to stop shaking so he could just be normal.

When I look at his Bible and glasses. I see his
peace. I sat in that chair and looked through his glasses even though all I saw was blur from them.. what I could see was that the man I loved saw so much beauty and pain through them.

How he Loved the Lord and wanted so bad to be able to hold the bible still so he could read it. Even though he couldn't hold it still he still carried it and opened it and looked at it and did his best to read it even if it was only a sentence.

I planted chicken and hens in his shoe's to set in the flower garden that he loved and those shoes had miles of stepping through the .
I even remember him saying as he got weaker that he just missed the little things like putting on his shoes and walking through the yard and
seeing his flowers and gold fish.

How a simple thing like that was getting to be impossible and he starred at them as they sat by the
coffee table in front of him.

So when I see this picture.. I see my Daddy as he was.

I pray for who's Father's that have passed while be able to reflect back on their Father's and have cherished memories flood over them.

I pray for those who's Father's are still with them make sure to tell them how much you love them and appreciate them.. Make sure you have no regrets or wishing you have told them what they mean to you.

This pic has been posted before but I wanted to share it again today.
Hope you all have a blessed day.. Keep each other in your thoughts and prayers.
xx
