Happy In High Key.

By lifesnapper
Hi all and many thanks for your much appreciated votes, comments, mod and award on my 'Trouser Swap?' images, we had some fun with that one.Smile And not forgetting the classic and most wonderful film clip from Carole.Smile

Today...A picture I took during a wedding in Rochester that I kind of gate crashed. Wink I tried several different things with this one but found that the high key approach was more pleasing to my eye. Not to everyone's taste of course.Smile

Have a good day everyone and all the best to all,

he needs to be holding this to remove any ambiguity
p.s. and the high-key treatment works here, it really does

Ha haaa, thanks, Leo. Glad you approve of the high key too. I thought I might be a mug for trying it. Wink

Maybe it is the lack of a good nights sleep but my first thought was Laural and Hardy! Blush

A wedding crasher as well, your list of achievements just keeps
growing and growing. SmileSmile
Nicely done John. I've added a B&W mod, just for the hell of it.
Have a great week.

Technically you've done a high contrast image, John, lots of whites and darks with little mid-tone. High key images contain little or no shadow. Not to say it hasn't been a good result just a comment re terminology.

Looking at the comments of 50/50, I've done a mod of one of the 50s Smile.

Many thanks, Dave. I doubt there will be a mod on the other 50% Smile
But thanks for correcting me on terminology. I'm learning. Wink

I'm going to argue that it's high contrast, not high key: but it is highly effective!

Indeed, this is the sort of effect one gets in the darkroom with Lith developer, which I've used a time or two - almost always very contrasty.

I had a play, but to get a high key image requires that one can lose almost all the blacks, and here, in true Lith style, there are significant areas that are blocked.

Lovely image!

Like your original and Lillians mod John ... some mods can give the appearance of some kind of skin disorder !! Not intended I`m sure.
Happiness ...... most important to find for ourselves and equally important .. in what we give or provide for others whenever we can ...
the" why am I here "question answered.
cheers walt
