Hard Going In The Snow

By Skinz
This is an experiment - I took a shot with the sun behind the trees on purpose in an attempt to try to get the dappled light in the foreground.

The snow was really deep and powder and was extremely hard going. We were on our way up Bienn a Chruliaste, some other images from that hike are already uploaded and I think that this will be the last unless you'd like to see some more.

I have uploaded a version image - it's actually one taken from near to the summit of Beinn a Chruliaste looking out over to Meal a Bhuiridh, Criese and Rannoch Moor.

Both images were taken on 4th March 2010.

Two great shots, Richard, and I particularly like V 1 with the sun behind the trees giving you a very effective lighting and high lighting the textures in the snow so well.

Great shots. No I want to see more. It's my kinds scene. Love it. Yes you've caught the detail in fg. Nice one. It is hard work though deep snow. Experienced that trekking to Great End in Dec. for a snow gully climb. Long day and decent with headtorches. Exhausting. Paul

I like the effect you achieved in V1, shall have to remember that.

Two very fine images - sun, snow and mountains. You have used all three elements to produce these fine pictures.
