A young cobbler waits for customers to pick up finished jobs, repaired sandals and slippers, his posture close to despair. An empty wine bottle can be noted beside his right foot. It likely contained water. He couldn't afford to buy wine.
His tools of trade are laid out on sheets of newspaper beside his stand. A flattened cardboard helps mitigate the heat of the pavement. While his work station is in the shade of a building, it is obvious he is affected by the weather.
He is located at the fringe of the native market.
