Haresfield Rapefield

By Glostopcat
A field of oilseed rape in Haresfield in Gloucestershire, taken back in May 2010. I found this one when clearing some files on my hard drive and thought I'd upload a landscape as a change. There is quite a lot of oilseed rape out already and for anyone in the Gloucestershire area like Graceland there are some spectacular fields like this around Haresfield, Churchdown Hill, some fields between Churchdown and Brockworth in Gloucester and on the A38 just past the McDonalds as you leave Quedgeley to head towards Whitminster.

You under estimate the raw power Ed has on that bike Ade, he is known as sir Edmund Hoy in the Cheltenham area and currently holds the cycling land speed record between Gloucester and Slimbridge Wild Fowl Centre.

This is a nice landscape full of summer brightness Ed. - gary

Not seen many rape field shots recently Ed.
Used to see loads on site, but not so much now.
Weather perhaps ?
Or farmers planting new crops ?
Anyway,good one here.

Many thanks for all your comments and clicks foks they are much appreciated. You are a fellow of infinite jest Gary, I couldn't travel that fast on that old mountain bike, even you the iron man from merthyr couldn't! travel that fast! lol I do have a good Trek mountain bike though which is much easier to ride. The one you saw I would not ride further than ten miles it would be too uncomfortable! I take the train from home to Cam and only cycle about a mile and a half to Slimbridge, although i have cycled the whole way along the canal from Gloucester in the past, Ed
