Harrier - Goodbye to a Legend

By gaviscon
This Harrier T12 of the Royal Air Force is seen taxing down to the runway at RAF Cottesmore, Rutland.

The Harrier is due for retirement in December 2010 after 40 years of service with both Navy and Air Force, it will be sorely missed by crews and enthusiasts alike.

A true marvel of British engineering and technology.

Great photograph of the Harrier looks like she's taking a bow! I had 20 years in the RAF and we always stopped to watch a Harrier, a firm favourite!

A great shot that works really well in mono
I particularly like the heat haze behind the aircraft
RIP Harrier!
