Harris Hawk

By Gordonsimpson
This was taken on a falconry experience day ran in Northumberland, England.
This was the first time I have done anything like this and thoughry enjoyed it.
I managed to get a good few photos I am happy with and thought I would share one with you.
Hope you like it.

Well done Gordon. This is not an easy form of photography and to be able to follow them around the sky, keep the panning smooth and still keep the eyes sharp take a lot of skill ....... and a little luck. Smile You have him sharp with crisp eyes, nicely positioned in the frame and still plenty of definition in the black feathers. The background looks very fitting and natural, although strictly speaking it would be more scrub/desert in the Americas.

Much, much better than my first attempts at photographing raptors.
