Lovely tones, Derek, and the mono makes the textures and shapes really stand out.

Wot Dave said! Plus the channels and the vignette really help pull your eye in and give depth.

The mono conversion makes it even more dramatic somehow - a lovely range of tones and textures and the vignette works very well.
I prefer this version to the colour, marvellous image Derek.

Very nice Derek, just been there myself hope to go back for 3 days in a few weeks to hopefully catch a sunset with the dramatic seascape there is there.

I really like the colour version and viewed this one first. As soon as I saw it I thought that it would look amazing in mono. I think this could be even better without the vignette. I really want to see all the tones and contasts into the corners. The vignette comes in quite along way into the image from the corners which darkens the overall image (although this might just be my iPad screen).

I really think this could be an epic mono image, particularly with the textures in the sky. The exposures are perfectly balanced in both the colour and mono versions. It might not have been the colourful sunset you might have wished for , but I'd take one of these images over a classic sunset view any day...
