Have Suitcase, Will Travel

By silverbells
But why would you take your suitcase all the way to the end of a very long pier? ("Taxi!!! Oh! Um?)

I suppose if you have had to check out of your guest house and they can't/won't/you can't/won't leave your suitcases there then you have no alternative but they just seem such a hindrance.

Odd. But they seem happy and in deep conversation. Well captured. A

Another inspired piece of reportage.

I was wondering what to post today... This inspired me to get out some older shots of the longest pier in Britain - Southend.

A pretty unedifying walk of over two miles, there and back, on a very cold day 13 months ago. It's long, but is, basically, a very boring pier.

However, there were people with cases on it - getting off a boat. I didn't photograph them, as it was the emptiness and bleakness I was shooting, so the people shot is a pull-up from one of the other shots. But legitimate use of suitcases on a pier!

In other words, I wish I'd gone with you to Llandudno...
