Hawkshead & Langdales

By dathersmith
Another from my walk over Claife Heights yesterday morning. The view was fantastic from here looking over Hawkshead village with the Langdales in the distance so I decided to have a go at a panoramic. The longest lens I had was the kit 18-55mm so could not zoom in much but I'm still happy with the result.

This is 4 shots stitched together in CS2 and its only the second time I've had a go at this so comments, hints and tips would be especially welcome. One question I do have is whether any of the dedicated panoramic creating software available is that much better than CS2, if so which one?

Unfortunately I am not an e2 member yet so this is probably a bit small but you'll have to believe me that it looks better larger.

Thanks for looking.

Darren.

Its hard to tell about the stitching but it looks good. Like the way you have caught the clouds hanging just above the fells.

Looks like its worked well. I use the panosaurus head and panorama factory software which is a dream combination as a) I am rubbish with ps and b) I am lazy and just load the images into pf and put the kettle on. I have tried lots of different software and thats the combination that I find works best. Feel free to pm me if I can be of any help.

Thanks for the comments everyone and advice Dave. At the moment I have a ball head which is obviously not ideal but will have a look at alternatives. Also will have a look at Panorama Factory. Thanks again.

Like it alot Darren, want to do panos myself. I've got PTGui pano software but haven't had time yet to really test it out yet, although I think a few folk are using it with good results.
Like Hawkshead nestling under the fells.
