A slightly more comprehensive view of the Barn photo I uploaded a few days ago. A Grade 2 Listed Building, sited on the Croxdale Hall Estate in County Durham, and on the "Endangered" list, I believe. Couldn't show the entire structure because of inconveniently parked cars and being unable to stand far enough away... it's a very large structure.
The larger central arch, which you can see here, leads through to the main farmyard. The other arches would accommodate wagons for loading/unloading. Inside is....nothing much...bits and pieces lying around. There is an attractive arrangement of beams that support the roof, which I was unable to photograph satisfactorily because of very limited access. I've uploaded a B&W conversion, but personally prefer the colour version, on which I've layered a B&W conversion with opacity reduced to around 40%
A few yards behind my viewpoint is a small chapel ( with graveyard ), which is partly Saxon...11th Century...and is a Grade 1 Listed Building, dilapidated in the extreme, to which of course there is no permitted access.
