Sunt lachrimae rerum - There are tears in things... My memories are of my grandfather's shed, he taught me wood-turning (I was quite good at it sixty years ago). He spent a lot of time in his shed, that's how marriages survived in those days...
Sheds were very special places some years ago, I learned how to wire a plug and rub down furniture before giving it a good old polishing.
Tears...yes when I remember things, where we went, what we did and the laughter we shared.

Superb shot Janet, and if it was possible to photograph memories then that is what you have done! You have photographically recreated the age when life was good....although none of us ever thought that at the time!! BTW, that chair looks amazing😉👏!!!!

I wish my father had been the type to engage me in things; unfortunately I had to wait until I was married and 'inherited' a father-in-law who taught me car mechanics, woodwork, wine-making, fishing...etc., etc.

Fantastic. They say a picture should tell a story and this certainly does, even if wasn't the one personal to you. It's lovely. As is the chair. Is she going to let you keep it?
I know so well those dad memories. They come and go all the time. This is a lovely way to bring him back if only in your mind. He could be there but just left for a moment. I'm out of awards but this is so worthy. I actually learned how to put on new brake pads. If I didn't he wouldn't let me drive. They even had to be riveted onto the shoes.
