Instant UA. Gritty, cold, dripping with atmosphere.
Plus a brilliant title.
PS You've followed one of my favourite routes through Nik Silver Efex, so I approve. Wink I would prefer a perfect square crop though, 'not-quite' square is less satisfying and this doesn't need all that height.

Definitely the lead in mono, and I think a square crop as per Moira’s comments. Brilliant title and very fitting for today!

Love the title, so often HFMs behave like sheep.
I like the mono treatment, though personally I'd have used less tone or even a touch of blue tone for a colder effect. Also a faded colour version may be an idea. And i like Moira's suggestion of a square crop.

Yes, a cracking image, and a superb title. Since you've asked, I agree with Moira that perhaps the very top layer of foliage could be lopped off: try it and see how it looks.

Best,
Bob

Yes, a lost opportunity there, but I've adjusted the crop and put it up as a version. Thanks to all those who suggested it.

Another instant award. Image and title complement each other perfectly!
I have no fundamental objection to unorthodox formats but agree in this instance that the perfect square works best.

A trim from the top for a square format, with overhanging branches, it looks a bit top heavy. The lead for my money

The lead for me, Allan...and keep the format, I don't feel making it square would add anything - but what do I know?Wink

Thanks, Bill. I seem to get distracted very easily these days, too. Late or not, much appreciated!
