Help - Beyond Saving!!??

By mr g
Not Taken by me!!
A friend of my dad showed him these pictures of his daughter's wedding. He said they couldn't afford a photographer so they had relied upon a relative! Don't know what camera they used! Very kindly, my dad said he get me to look at them and see what I could do on the computer.(Thanks dad!) I said I thought they were beyond saving. Am I right? I don't think there's enough detail to improve this shot (I've 5 like it to try and save. Thanks for any ideas/advice even if you say that they can't be improved. Rob

I'm sure that they be be lifted a little, you don't say what manipulation package you use. But something like Screen in photoshop will lift them a couple of stops potentially.

For people to provide more help you probably need to let them know what the medium is Digital or film, if film can you get a good scan of the negatives etc.

Hope this provides a little pointer in the right direction and that you do manage to rescue them to at least a small extent.

There is nothing beyond salvation, given enough time and skill.

I've had a go too. Don't know much about scanning in though, but I guess having the negative would help. Best of luck.
