Help identify me please

This little very hairy fly is about 4mm across wing tip to wing tip. It was very active on a window and I used a piece of cling film to restrict it until I had finished. I can't find it in my insect books so would appreciate some expert help identifying it. Thanks

Wow, that is hairy! It's a shame you can't see many details on the fly itself, but it's certainly an interesting shot!

I'd say a Drain Fly, Moth fly's another name.
