I think its the Ferruginous Duck. They are seen at WWT and are known to migrate amongst Pochard which they are related too.?

I was going to hazard a guess that it's a Pochard but Graham (ImageProducer) seems to be better informed. I have never heard of a Ferruginous Duck so that 's another thing to look up later on! Many thanks to you both!

Excellent shot of this Ferruginous Duck preening Dave.

The Ferruginous Duck has the White eyes & darker beak, the Pochard has Red eyes & a much lighter beak,hope this helps.
