Henry Moore at Salisbury Cathedral

By Paintman
I've been trying to convert this to black and white to make a strong, sophisticated image with a good tonal range and dramatic contrasts between the sky and sculpture. I seem to have lost the ability to post process the photo without destroying an important part of the quality I'm looking for. I have seen some excellent mono's of Gaudi's chimneys ( a sentence I never thought I'd say ) and that is the kind of feel I'm trying for. Can you do anything with it?

Thank you rontear for your UA, very kind of youSmile

Thanks also to banehawi for your mod. I think I'm trying to get the three areas of sky, cathedral and sculpture to occupy three different tonal ranges. The sky a dark, mid grey, the cathedral, close to dark grey and black ( apart from the lit side ) and the sculpture a range from white through to mid greys.

I think the sensor on the Samsung phone has had trouble with the brightness of the sun on the sculpture and produced a visual echo on the head, not something I was expecting.
