Dark and disturbing. I love it when people explore new ways of seeing. This for me creates a relationship between reflection and rock. I would be interested to see it with the dark soft band at the top cropped off. And possibly flipped vertically...

So very well observed and captured from a well thought out point of view.

I like V1... weird in a good way.
V2... Moira's suggestion was definitely worth a try, though personally I'm not sure it's worked. That upsidedown rock is a problem for me, I find that it jars with the rest of the image and makes the whole thing top heavy. Works fine in V1.

My first thought was "I wonder what it looks like upside down?" and then saw V2 and Moira's comment Grin

I think V2 would work more if the whole top bit (with both the sun and the upside down rock) was removed altogether. Okay, it would make it a completely different picture which kind of isn't the point, but I find that bottom bit lovely. Like a mountain rising up out of the sea and misty clouds, somewhere far far away. Add a couple of birds into the sky somewhere, and hey presto ... there's enough of the submerged stones in the 'sky' area to make it visually puzzling, too Smile

There's something almost Japanese art-like about that bottom half, and I'm really liking it!

Very different Dave......I love the idea of V2 but the big rock feels like it will fall on my head, I feel as though I am squinting away from it. Can you not return to the scene and dig it up?WinkGrin The little rock works, looks like a mountain.
Love V1 Dave, very niceGrinGrinGrin

I love the glimpse of the sun but find the 2 pictures confusing but interesting - which is which. The colours and textures are good in both though.

Very interesting shot. I love the mountain and clouds, and the fact that you have to think about the image to work out what is going on. 3 main elements works really well as you have to move your eye around the picture to take it in. I'm not a fan of the upside down one though, too confusing for my brain!
