Heron with gosling

By esoxlucius
Sad fact of nature is Predator or Prey.
Mixed emotions' as a wildlife photographer, loving nature, saddened by predation while at the same time aware of the balance of nature and the anticipation of capturing the moment.
It's going to happen whether you're there or not. So if you are able to document it, then that surely is a privilege. Upsetting for some I know but that's true nature.

So true. I watched an eagle grab a duckling a while ago. I wanted to throw a rock at it. Took a blurry shot instead.

Thatís a perfectly timed shot. Itís so very sad but itís nature. Iím convinced itís the heron I have been photographing which has taken two of the cygnets. It was still hanging round the dwindling family last time I was at the park.
