Hello Ben, welcome to ePHOTOzine, I see that you have just joined us and this is your first upload. I hope you will enjoy the site, it's a good place to share and to learn, and a very friendly community.

You ticked the critique button - was that intentional? It has the effect of disabling votes and awards but invites more in-depth comment. The Critique Gallery is a learning area, we try to assist members with questions regarding both camera technique and image processing. But we do ask for more information from critique uploaders, this is the advice on the Critique Gallery home page:

Quote:To Uploaders: To assist critiquers, we ask that you to tell us about your image: what you intended, any processing you've done, if you had a specific idea about how the image was supposed to look, what areas you feel need improvement, and to provide us with your EXIF data. We recommend that you refer to the guidelines for Posting Photos in the Critique Gallery.

The site normally picks up EXIF automatically but isn't doing so here, so I assume that you used Save for web which strips the data from the file - could you please add that information, either by editing the upload or as a note here in the comments section.

A note as to the processing used, and the effect that you were seeking to achieve, would also be helpful.

Hi Ben and welcome from me too.
Perhaps you have posted this for critique by mistake, if not there is much more information we need from you as Moira has mentioned above.
It is difficult to offer critique when the Team has no exif data and no description from you.
we need that kind of thing to help us help you.

And welcome form me, too, Ben.

We really do need more information, including something on processing - there's been a good deal of that here!

There's a bit of EXIF data, but it's not accurate or consistent - the camera cited is a very old compact, and the lens is a Nikon DSLR optic...

Please say more...

The image appears somewhat like a poster, with low contrast. But we dont know if you wanted this look or not without more information.

I uploaded a modification with increased contrast to show the difference.

Ben, it would be good to hear from you. I hope that you will come back with answers.

On the basis of what we see here, the colour processing is strange. It works for the background, but not for the model, it gives her a grey, cadaverous pallor. It would help to see the unprocessed original, you can add it as a modification. (Go to the blue modifications button and follow the instructions).

Plus what has happened to her right foot???

As above. The image is very flat indeed. Without information, it is difficult to be sure, but the tones look like a very over done HDR? is that what you did?
