Earlier today, Ernie (Devil's Advocate) put up a lovely image of Lake Tekapo, in Canterbury, NZ. Dave Ryder mentioned he thought there was the statue of a dog nearby. It rang a bell, so I looked through files and I think this is what Dave was referring to; a memorial to the collie dogs which were an invaluable help to the farmers in the high country. I believe it was put up in 1968 as a permanent display of gratitude to these hard working sheep dogs.
