High Tide at Telscombe Cliffs

By lostnspace2011
Thanks to everybody who voted and commented on yesterday upload Jackdaw . Appreciated as always.

Onto todays image. A break from the birds for today.

This was taken at Telscombe Cliffs in Peacehaven a few weeks ago now. A lovely day although was very blustery which i had hoped would give me some nice shots of waves crashing into the wall. This was probably the largest of them.

Just past the cliff face on the left a scene from Mr Bean series one was Filmed :

Thank you Christine, Leon, Hugh and John.

I had been hoping for a larger wave to hit the wall but it wasnt to be, it was not long after this the heavens opened up with a sharp shower and we were stuck at the bottom of the cliffs near no steps, typical Smile
Cant beat a bit of Bean John Smile

I remember that scene well, hilarious. I like your angle on this, but could you have included the whole of the first of the Seven Sisters?

31 Jul 2012 7:39PM
Thanks Dave. I will look through my other shots Dave. Im sure thats Seaford Head in the distance, which i think is the start of the seven sisters?? Not that i really know the area. Only ever been through Newhaven once, traveling from Eastbourne to Peacehaven last year and dont remember much of Seaford Smile

Dave, V3 is possibly the closest shot i`ll get to it. I was waiting for the waves to crash up against the steps which would of made it a better shot but it turned into one that was heading for the recycle bin Smile

Thanks Jamie, Elaine, Isabel, Ray and Paul Smile

Jamie. It was actually a lovely day that day, warm and sunny most part, just blustery and we did get caught in a quick sharp shower Smile

Great shots, Mark!Smile
Yesterday evening we went swimming in the Volga, the water had a temperature of 27 degrees Celsius, it can be said - hot! I wonder what is the water temperature in the sea? Is it possible to swim?
2 Aug 2012 11:58AM
Thanks Valery. Smile

Water temperature hotter than our air temperature here.

The sea temperature in my image i would hazard a guess at between 8 degrees and 10 degrees celcius. A little cold but okay to swim in i guess. Maybe a little rough the water if you wanted to swim in the choppy waters in my images : )
