HOA LU (3)

Thank you for your comments on yesterday’s photos of the friendly gentleman and his bike.

Before 1010, Hoa Lu used to be the capital of Dai Co Viet. “It is also the native land of 3 royal dynasties: the Dinh, and the Pre - Le and Ly. The ancient capital covered an area of 300ha, including the Inner Citadel and the Outer Citadel. It was surrounded by rock mountain ranges.

In the past, Hoa Lu Royal citadel was adorned with splendid palaces, magnificent temples and shrines. When King Ly Cong Uan transferred the capital to Thang Long (now known as Hanoi), it became the ancient capital.” (Wikipedia)

On the site of Hoa Lu you can see some temples (King Dinh Temple, Le Temple) where lots of people come to worship. The smell of burning incense is powerful in the small rooms inside the temple.

Hoa Lu is about 90 km south from Hanoi.

Hoping you’ll enjoy these photos.

All comments welcome.

Have a nice evening,
