Hobby (Falco subbuteo)

By DerekL
Thank you for the votes/comments on my previous upload of a Migrant Hawker Dragonfly, much appreciated.
Yesterday managed to get some shots of a Hobby flying over Chasewater Country Park.
Amazing birds to watch as they twist and turn catching Dragonflies and eat "on the wing"
Didn't fly as close as I would have liked, so quite large crops.

Lovely work here Derek. These devils fly at speed record pace and you have done well to pan with them.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

I know what you mean about large crops Derek but is it also a case of 'is the distance to subject' too much for the lens Wink

A great effort here and not as easy as most think,
Geoff.

At least you had a clear blue sky though which makes the bird appear better defined. A great set of long range shots which are much better than any i've managed
