Home Fires

By daviewat
Ah the old Aga Smile

Coal scuttles at the ready to feed her.

This is in a small cottage I look after for the owners, they let it out Smile

It reminds me so so so much of my dear old Grannies kitchen/Lobby as there was an old fuel burning stove there that was always on the go with a pot of something bubbling away on top of it. Ah memories Smile

My mother in law had one of these stoves but sadly they are all being removed and replaced by oil boilers.

The kettle was always on in those days.

Thanks for the reminder Dave.

Makes me feel young again. We had a shed in which a part of it was boxed in to keep the coal supply. But I grew up with gas heaters (two for a whole house, one downstairs, one upstairs).
Can these stoves really heat a whole house?
