Home With A View

By glyndwr
I got this image last week, it is a three image HDR.
I had to go back to the location today to check as I had doubts about some of the colours but they are absolutely fine.
This area is a former colliery building directly on the A4059, there are three arches which face the road and until recently they were unseen but since trees have been cut back they are on view again.
Some unfortunate person had in the past made this their home, there is a tarpaulin, a 'Home Sweet Home' sign, settee etc, someone had used a spray paint can to add the bright colour touches.
Not a great view from the window but I was drawn to the textures in the bricks and vine.

Your narrative of this place is really good and like you I love textures and there are plenty here. An arch with a light point beyond whether Abbey or Colliery is great to me!

I see that the colours are sprayed on and the building has been a shelter for somebody as you say. You know what is coming next...have you tried it in B/W? You have some lovely light filtering through and I think it would make another good image.

Take care.

Lovely tones and textures, and like how the vine has shaped itself to the arch 👍 I'm with Kath, and think it would work well in mono too 😃

Oh I like this. So well spotted and captured. I'm assuming with the rocks piled there that the gate is no longer in use.
