"Honey"

By RonnieAG
The view from below in the case of mushrooms is often more interesting than a bird's eye view of the cap.
I think the lead image is consistent with that opinion. The version is the bird's eye view.
Two images of Honey mushrooms (Armillaria) taken yesterday in my local park........it was raining, I had an umbrella up held by left hand and these shots were taken one handed by my right. Surprisingly, both seemed to be sharp enough.

My thanks to all who commented on On The Forest Floor and with special thanks to Sue (SUE118) for her UA.

Ronnie.

You are of course quite right about the view, all the detail is underneath and the flash certainly illuminates that.
Squeezing the shutter is as important as holding the camera steady, but the flash is freezing the image in any case.
Off camera flash was a technique iused all the time by press photographers, would have needed a third hand to do that Ronnie.

The mundane over-view belies the marvellous detail hidden on the underside.

Wonderful results under the circumstances, Ronnie, or should I say, under the umbrella? Smile
Excellent pov on your lead image giving lots of interest.

Well done handling the umbrella and capturing the undersides (gills?) - definitely
more visually pleasing in this instance.

So good Ronnie - you must have a very steady hand and the detail shown is top class.

I'd have trouble getting shots like these holding the camera with two hands here at ground level, let alone juggling with an umbrella too! Two super captures, Ronnie, and seem appropriately named, they look as if they're covered in honey 👍
