Honest Paul, it looks like you missed the focus. The grass bank on RHS seems to be sharper and more in focus than he overhanging rock.

Sorry mate but I don't agree at all. Not sure if it's because optically there is more finer detail in the grass bank than the rock or not.

Look at the detail in the water cascades below, in front and around the rock. They appear sharper, possibly because they have much finer detail in them, but as my manual point of focus [through live view] was on the overhanging rock, that can't really be possible here. Having the benefit of being able to look at the original shot I know it's bang on and I can even see there's a slight drop off in sharpness on the tiny ferns on the lower part of that bank.

1000px probably just isn't enough to judge a shot the finitely!!!

I looked long and hard before mentioning it Paul, It maybe compression down to 1000px, and losing detail in the darks (or a little bit too much local contrast). But it was the leaf - the one on the rock just doesnt have the detail of the one on the side bank. It maybe that it moved with the water / wind.

Any how I wouldn't worry too much either way Wink

The leaf on the rock is curled over and then viewed from the side Nick, not flat on like the one you mention ... anyway, enough of that, I gather you don't like the shot then? Wink Tongue

LOL.... Not my favourite image of yours Wink but then it would have to be very special to be in that bracket (funny looks better on the iPad, than on the calibrated computer screen ... mmm hope my daughters not been messing with the settings again!!!!)
